Global Knives

Global Knives were truly a cutlery revolution both when they were introduced in 1985 and today. Manufactured by Yoshikin in Niigata, Japan, Global knives are made from the finest materials and manufacturing techniques to create a world-renowned cutting instrument.

The Global Knife Edge

The most innovative feature of a Global Knife is the cutting edge. Unlike traditional European knives that are beveled with an approximately 20 degree blade edge, Global knives are ground to a straight point rather than being beveled, resulting in a dramatically sharper knife, that stays sharper longer. To balance their knives, Global uses a hollow-handle that is filled with the right amount of sand for the size and shape of the knife to provide perfect balance in the hand. By making their knives lightweight, Global has created a quick knife line that minimizes hand strain from continuous use.

How Global Knives are constructed

Global Knives are constructed using the finest combination of metallurgical elements known as Chroma 18. The proper proportions of vanadium, chromium and molybdenum, creates a metal that is strong enough to retain its edge for an extended period of time with continuous use, yet soft enough for it to be easily resharpened. The high percentage of chromium in Chroma 18 means the knife will have extraordinary, stain resistant properties keeping the knife both hygienic and good looking over time.
